Felix Ahenkorah, LPN
“I originally started work in IT before a family member talked to me about becoming a CNA. I had thrown around the idea of working in ministry. Being a CNA blended my love of caring for people with my interest in healthcare.
“After several years as a CNA, I was encouraged by my peers to become an LPN. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Virginia Health Care Association (VHCA) to make this dream a reality. My mission is to care for my patients and about them. It was hard to work full time and go to school full time, but it was well worth it. It's a good thing to work for a Center that can help you be successful.
“Somewhere along the line I was blessed to be selected as employee of the month and eventually employee of the year. This is a rewarding job and I could not imagine working anywhere else.”

Danielle Pace, RN/MDS Coordinator
"I definitely enjoy interacting with management. You're just not able to do that at a hospital. Here you work hand-in-hand with your management team and they are so helpful."

“Sixteen years ago, I gave birth to my twin daughters. I remember how wonderful the nurses were. They were so awesome and so good to me. It was this experience that made me realize you can make people feel good, despite their physical pain. It made me realize that I wanted to go into nursing.
“I began my nursing career at a local hospital, caring for patients in the ICU. But I really wanted a different experience in long-term care. I now have the opportunity to really get to know my patients. I love the staff here and I love the people I help – I'm here to stay!”

Jim Morales, PT
"I had worked for several skilled nursing facilities before, but LifeWorks Rehab and its Centers are by far the best at getting the job done."

“I chose to get into physical therapy after my mother suffered a stroke. At the time, I didn't have the skills or the knowledge to really help her. I wanted to improve her quality of life and had a strong desire to help others as well. So, I went to school in the Philippines, received my bachelor's degree, and began my career as a PT.
“My sister was a PT at another LifeWorks Rehab facility and encouraged me to join myself. Everyone works as a team to get people to where they need to be. I have been here for 10 years and I couldn't ask for a more rewarding experience. We have a lot of fun and I truly enjoy what I do.”
